The Public Relations Lead is a unique opportunity to be an integral part of Latham’s Brand & Communications team. This varied and exciting new role will be responsible for working closely with colleagues on the Public Relations (“PR”) team, as well as other members of the Brand & Communications (“B&C”) department in areas such as Internal Communications, Digital & Social Media, Editorial Services, and Creative Services, while working with members of the wider Europe and Middle East (“EME”) PR team to design and implement PR programs to support practices, industries, and the Paris office. This role will be located in our Paris office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Other key responsibilities include:

• Building relationships with key reporters at relevant media outlets and supervising firm contacts with external media; serving as the primary point of contact for any appointed PR agency
• Drafting and distributing press releases, deal and case announcements, and other media advisories
• Placing attorney-written articles as bylined commentary in publications; identifying opportunities to leverage Latham thought leadership – in all forms – for press commentary
• Working together with EME B&C and BD colleagues to draft content for the firm’s website and other digital and social media channels, including the Paris office showcase page on LinkedIn
• Drafting and coordinating award entries and survey submissions, facilitating interviews as required; supporting BD colleagues with submissions for the main legal directories

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including reading, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary to ensure proper and efficient writing, as well as the ability to write professionally and with attention to detail, and to utilize communication skills to enhance the firm’s outstanding reputation
• Display fluency in French and English – written and verbal

And have:

• A Bachelor''s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field
• Relevant marketing and communications experience (either in generalist or specialist BD or marketing/communications role(s)) and deep understanding of specific practices and industries relevant to the role
• Possess knowledge of core public relations and marketing principals including digital marketing, communications, branding, market research, and competitive intelligence
