About the Team
Bloombergu2019s External Relations team drives the companyu2019s engagement with government institutions, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders on public policy and regulatory issues that impact Bloomberg and its clients globally. Our work spans strategic advocacy, thought leadership, and high-level stakeholder relations, with close collaboration across Bloombergu2019s Legal & Compliance, Communications, Corporate Philanthropy, and core business functions to align policy initiatives with corporate objectives.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Regulatory Policy Specialist with a minimum of seven years' experience in European financial services policy to join our Paris-based External Relations team. This role is central to shaping and executing Bloombergu2019s engagement strategy with French and EU regulatory institutions, including national regulators and institutions such as the Autoritu00e9 des marchu00e9s financiers (AMF), Banque de France, and Direction Gu00e9nu00e9rale du Tru00e9sor, as well as the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Banking Authority (EBA). The position will be reporting into the head of the EU office and the head of external relations for France.
As a senior contributor, you will be instrumental in identifying and analyzing regulatory developments, advising internal stakeholders, and building trusted, influential relationships with financial authorities, economic and financial directorates withing french ministries and regulatory leaders across Europe.
What Youu2019ll Do
Track, assess, and communicate emerging regulatory and policy developments across financial services, including capital markets, market structure, and digital finance.
Represent Bloomberg in direct engagements with French and EU financial authorities.
Work across markets as global regulatory issues evolve, and engage with regulators in other European capitals and the UK.
Draft and coordinate high-impact consultation responses, policy briefings, and position papers that clearly articulate Bloombergu2019s perspective.
Participate in Bloombergu2019s representation in industry associations, working groups, conferences, and bilateral meetings with regulators.
Support the design and delivery of strategic policy events, roundtables, and high-level stakeholder engagements in Paris, Brussels, and other key locations.
Provide actionable regulatory intelligence and strategic insight to Bloombergu2019s business units and leadership to support commercial decisions and client engagement strategies.
Partner with our Corporate Philanthropy colleagues, as well as our Communications and Marketing teams, to strengthen Bloombergu2019s EU public policy voice and visibility among policymakers, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory positions are coherent, consistent, and aligned with Bloombergu2019s values and goals.
What Youu2019ll Bring
At least seven years of experience in European financial services policy, ideally gained within a regulatory authority, government body, financial institution, or industry association.
Strong expertise in the EU policymaking process and a deep understanding of financial markets, regulatory frameworks, and digital finance trends.
Hands-on experience engaging with or working within French regulatory institutions, with a strong grasp of the French regulatory environment.
Proven ability to influence policy outcomes and cultivate trusted relationships with key regulatory stakeholders.
Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and well-reasoned policy materials.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills, with a collaborative approach and comfort operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Full native-level fluency in French and English; additional European languages are a plus.
